Flight Departures at Malpensa Airport

The A8 and A9 motorways connect the city of Milan, nearby Linate Airport and Malpensa Airport, as well as open up the North and East to motorists. From the West and South of Italy Malpensa Airport is accessible via the A4 motorway.

Every 20 minutes there is a shuttle or express airport bus services leaving Milan's Central railway station for Terminals 1 and 2. It takes just 40 to 45 minutes from central Milan to reach the airport by bus.

Regular train services go directly to Terminals 1 and 2 also, arriving at an underground train station that is located just 200 meters from the Arrivals Hall of Terminal 2. The two terminals are linked by a railway line.

Parking at Malpensa Airport is handled via 5 different parking facilities, offering both short- and long-term parking at Malpensa Airport. P1 for example has 1,200 long-term parking lots available, while P2 has 2,700 covered parking lots designed for Executive short-term and medium-term parking. P4 handles long-term parking for holidaymakers, one of the most cost-effective ways of parking at Malpensa Airport (for example, here 7 days can cost just 59.00 euros).

Terminal 1 Facilities

Securebag on the second floor has ten stations open daily from 4.00 to 21.00 hours, where passengers can protect their baggage against loss or damage.

Banca Popolare di Sondrio banking facilities can be found on Terminal 1's first floor in Boarding Area A and in FS Station Square. Both areas boast ATM's. On the the second floor in check-in area 11 and 17 there are further ATMs. Branches of Banca Popolare di Sondrio are open from Mondays to Fridays from 8.30 to 13.20 and from 14.35 to 15.35. On Saturdays these bank branches are open from 9.05 to 12.00. Deutsche Bank's ATM is also on the second floor, in check-in area 4.

A Poste Italiane branch is open on the ground floor from Mondays to Fridays from 8.20 to 13.45, and on Saturdays from 8.20 to 12.45.

Foreign currency exchange offices are located on the first floor in Departures A and Departures Satellite B2, and on the second floor in check-in areas 5-6, 9-10 and in check-in area 17.

Malpensa Airport also has a pharmacy on the first floor in Departures area B, where the pharmacy opens daily from 8.00 to 20.00. A First Aid station in also on the ground floor.

Bus Travel to Terminal 1 Malpensa Airport

Air Pullman and Terravision are just two of three companies offering bus services that run every 20 minutes from just outside Milan Central Train Station to Malpensa Airport's two terminals. The trip takes 50 minutes from the train station to Terminal 1. Tickets can be bought from the driver or from relevant ticket offices or ticket boxes at the train station. A ticket costs around 8.00 euros per person one-way, and 14.00 euros return. Children pay ca. 5.00 euros one-way.

Train Travel to Terminal 1 Malpensa Airport

Trains connect directly from the Canton of Ticino in Switzerland and the Varese region to Malpensa Airport's terminals. The first train from Como leaves Bellizona train station at 4.34 in the morning, followed by hourly services until 20.34. It takes 2 hours and 13 minutes to reach Malpensa's terminals.

The S50 extension line links Varese with the airport. The S40 line only goes as far as Varese, running daily from Mondays to Saturdays between 5.36 in the morning until 19.36 at night, and travelling from Como between the hours of 5.41 in the morning to 19.40 at night. Local trains run from Milano Cadrona, Milano P. Ta Garibaldi and Milano Central to both terminals, travelling via Milano Bovisa, Saronna, Rescaldina, Castellanca, Busto Arisizio FN, to Ferno-Lonate Pozzolo, before arriving at Terminal 1, then Terminal 2.

From Milan Central Train Station trains leave 68 times a day, leaving every hour at .25 and .55 minutes. Journeys also stop at Milan P. ta Garibaldi Station. It takes 58 minutes from Milan Central Station to reach the terminal.

Taxi Transfers to Malpensa Airport

Consorzio Taxi Malpensa Airport and Taxi Malpensa offer their services on the Milan to Malpensa Airport route. The Consorzio takes credit cards like Mastercard, American Express, Discovery and Visa and offers minibus sharing too. European Limousines (http://www.europeanlimousine.it/) offer chauffeur-driven limousines for leisure and business travel to Malpensa Airport.

The fixed fare for a trip from the city of Milan is ca. 47.50 euros one-way. Travelling between Linate and Malpensa airports costs about 52.50 euros. A trip from Rho Fiera during scheduled fairs costs ca. 32.50 euros.

Terminal 2 Facilties

Currency exchange facilities are located on the ground floor and first floor. The ground floor desk is in check-in, where it is open daily from 6.15 to 19.45, and on the first floor in Departures. It is open every day from 5.15 to 21.45 hours.

A Securebag office for baggage protection is located on the ground floor in the check-in area, where two stations are open daily from 4.00 to 21.00.

Bus and Train Travel to Terminal 2 Malpensa Airport

It takes between airport buses and shuttles between 40 and 45 minutes to reach Terminal 2 from Milan Central Train Station. Operators include Terravision and Air Pullman as well as Autostradale. Please see above, Terminal 1, for website details.

Other Services available at Terminal 2 Malpensa Airport

A First Aid station is open every day on the ground floor. It is located just outside of the main exit.

A pharmacy is also located on the ground floor. It is open daily from 5.00 to 19.00 in the check-in area.

Car Rental Services to Malpensa Airport
